Pipe Thermal Insulation

Insulation used on Pipe work can prevent condensation forming, as the surface temperature of the insulation will vary from the surface temperature of the pipe.

In case of underground pipelines - insulation material has to interact with soil ingredients whereas in case of pipelines exposed to sun, it has to withstand UV rays. Also insulation on pipe may need protection from ingress of water vapor, so very often you will find insulation on pipes protected by an outer coating – like metallic sheets or pvc jackets or aluminium foil etc. depending upon the requirement.
