Spandrel Insulation

In a multi storey building with curtain wall facade, opaque and translucent glass are used in the space between the office floors of the building – often hiding the electrical and mechanical components behind .These are referred to as spandrel glass.

The spandrel cavity needs to be filled up with an insulation material so that conditioned air of a floor do not leak into the adjacent floors.

Suggested Material for Spandrel Insulation:

• Fiberglass wool.
• Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam
