Pre Engineered Building (PEB) Systems are a complete package of low rise steel buildings manufactured and delivered to the site by a single supplier. The package comprises of rigid structural steel, cladding system and building accessories. In a typical PEB structure, the roof accounts for approx. 40% to 50% of total heat gain, while walls account for approx. 15% to 20% of heat gain. Also a metallic structure transmits noise of rains and other clamorous activity outside very easily.
PEBs need to be insulated for the following reasons:
- Minimize heat gain & maximize thermal comfort.
- In case it is air conditioned building minimize energy loss, cooling load and operating cost.
- Provide acoustic insulation from heavy rain and other outside noise.
- Prevent moisture condensation thus protect building from corrosion.
- Improve aesthetic look from inside of the building
Suggested Material for Underdeck Insulation:
- Fiberglass wool
- Bubble Foam
